Bavarian tuning company, a-workx, has been involved in auto racing far longer than we can remember so they’re one of those companies that can draw from their bank of experience to build tuning programs for just about any car they can get their hands on.

For this particular project, a-workx took a BMW M3 and proceeded to give it the kind of racing program that can even take the M3 GTS to task. That’s not an easy thing to say, but a-workx has both the knowledge and the resources to make it happen.

The first order of business for the M3 was to give it’s 4.0-liter V8 engine a plethora of modifications, including new a-workx camshafts, a new sports air filter, a carbon fiber air box, an Akrapovic Evolution titanium exhaust, and, last but certainly not least, an ECU remap. All these tweaks and additions have helped the M3 increase its output from the standard 414 horsepower all the way up to 460 horsepower and 295 lb/ft of torque. These upgrades have translated into improved performance numbers, including a 0-62 mph time of just 4.1 seconds and a Hockenheim Short lap time of just 1:11.9, six-tenths faster than the mighty M3 GTS.
